CarDealer
PROA car dealership site with a filterable inventory, a finance calculator and a test drive form.

About This Starter Site
CarDealer is a site for a car dealership, shown here as Aura Automotive, a made-up showroom in Turin. It carries six pages: a home page with a photo slider, a search bar and four featured cars; a financing page; a test drive page; an about page; a contact page; and a blog with three articles. Behind them is an inventory of twelve sample vehicles from four invented makes. Visitors filter it by make, body type, fuel, transmission, condition, price, year and mileage, and sort it by price, mileage or year. Each vehicle has its own page, with its photos in a gallery that opens full screen, its specifications, a sample monthly payment and a Book a test drive button that carries the car's name to the form. A finance calculator on the financing page works out the monthly payment from a price, a deposit and a term, and it works without JavaScript. The inventory and the calculator run on the vehicle module of the Pro plugin. It uses the same base theme as every other starter site, so nothing here is a separate product to maintain. What changes is the palette, the patterns, and the content. The photographs are AI-generated samples of cars and showrooms, with no faces in them: replace them with your own.

FAQ
How do the inventory and its filters work?
Every vehicle is an entry under Vehicles in the dashboard, with a price, an optional sale price, a year, a mileage, a power, a colour, doors, seats and photos, filed under a make, a body type, a fuel, a transmission and a condition. The inventory page lists them twelve to a page. Visitors narrow the list by any of those, by a minimum and maximum price, a year and a mileage, and sort it by newest, price, mileage or year. The filter is a plain form, so a filtered list has an address you can share, and it works without JavaScript. A vehicle with a sale price shows an Offer badge, with its old price crossed out.
How does the finance calculator work, and what is the representative example?
The calculator takes a price, a deposit from 10% to 50% and a term of 24, 36, 48 or 60 months, and shows the monthly payment to the cent, with the amount of credit and the deposit. Each vehicle page has a compact version with the car's price already in it, and the cards show a payment "from €X/month", rounded to the euro. They are all worked out from one representative example: a 20% deposit, 48 months and a 6.9% fixed rate (7.1% APR representative on the live demo), which is written under every figure. The page says that it is an illustration, not an offer of credit, and that the real terms come from the lender. The rate here is an example: you set your own with a developer filter, and the whole site follows.
How does the test drive form work, and do I need Contact Form 7?
The Test Drive page has a form for the car, a preferred date and time, a name, a phone number, an email address, optional notes and a box to confirm that the visitor holds a valid driving licence. It is a Contact Form 7 form called Test drive request, which the import creates when Contact Form 7 is active, and its messages go to the site's admin email address. The Book a test drive button of a vehicle opens it with the car's name already filled in. Contact Form 7 is free and optional: without it, the page shows an Email Your Test Drive Request button that opens an email to the same address.
Can I add my own vehicles?
Yes. The twelve sample vehicles are ordinary entries under Vehicles: edit them, replace them with your own and delete the ones you do not need. Each has a few fields, a featured image and a gallery, and a vehicle without a price shows Price on request. The home page shows the vehicles you mark as featured, topped up with the newest. Switching the vehicle module off hides the inventory without deleting anything.
Are the photos real?
No. Every photograph is an AI-generated sample of a car, a showroom or a workshop, with no faces in them, and no badges, logos or number plates. The makes (Orvane, Calderra, Brennix and Halvik) and their models are invented, and so are Aura Automotive, its address and phone number in Turin, its prices and its customers' reviews. Replace the photographs, the name and the contact details with your own before you publish.
What does this starter site need to import?
CarDealer is a Pro starter site: the Pro plugin, with an active license, is what imports it. It needs Companion Pro 1.3.0 or newer, theme 1.3.0 or newer, WordPress 6.5 and PHP 8.0. It does not need WooCommerce. Importing it switches on the vehicle module of the Pro plugin, which gives the site its inventory, its vehicle pages and its calculator. The free plugin lists CarDealer with a link to the live demo, but cannot import it.
